Northland Pines to drop driver’s ed
By Ken Anderson
News Correspondent

This will be the final year for driver’s education at Northland Pines High School after the school board decision to discontinue the program last week.

District Administrator Mike Richie told board members there are at least three private providers of driver’s education programs in the area that will continue to provide this service.

“The cost for students with the school-sponsored program is the same as the private providers charge,” Richie said. “The main difference is students won’t be receiving any school credit for the course.”

The school will still allow students to take on-the-road
