City backs library project, with bid laws emphasized
By Ken Anderson
News Correspondent

The Eagle River City Council endorsed the proposed Walter E. Olson Memorial Library building project, but warned officials to follow statutory requirements pertaining to public works.

The council members and library officials were reminded of the problems the city had with a previous building project during a special meeting last week.

The council adopted a position requiring the foundation and/or board of trustees for the library to utilize Chapter 62.15 in every facet of the project and particularly the bidding requirements and performance bonds for contracts.

City attorney Steve Garbowicz said at some point the library project must come before the city Plan Commission and the council.
