Buck kill down 10% in three counties here

The 2013 buck harvest dropped for the second straight year during the nine-day gun deer season that ended Sunday, down 10.7% in the tri-county area.

Last year, the buck harvest was down 2.5% in Vilas, Oneida and Forest counties.

Preliminary registration figures from last week’s hunt show hunters took 1,113 bucks in Vilas County, down 11% from the 1,249 bucks harvested in 2012.
