to cancel late doe hunt
While the four-day antlerless hunt is set to start this Thursday, Dec. 12, and run through Sunday, Dec. 15, three North Woods legislators are calling on the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to use its emergency authority to cancel the late doe hunt north of Highway 64.
State Sen. Tom Tiffany (R-Hazelhurst), Rep. Mary Czaja (R-Irma) and Rep. Rob Swearingen (R-Rhinelander) released a statement regarding the scheduled antlerless deer hunt last Friday.
Bill Cosh, agency spokesperson for the DNR Office of Communications, said Monday that DNR officials have not responded to the request.
