Vilas County Sheriff
A total of 180 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.The department reported at least 24 vehicle accidents, four requests for agency assistance, four requests for an ambulance, two animal problems, one battery, two burglar alarms, eight requests for citizen assistance, two reports of criminal damage to property, one report of disorderly conduct, one disturbance, one report of domestic violence, one fire, two harassment complaints, two reports of hazardous conditions, one hit-and-run, one lost person, one report of lost property, one report of a suspicious circumstance, three thefts, six traffic violations, two vacations checks, seven welfare checks, 14 911 hang-ups, one ATV?violation, two drug problems and three snowmobile accidents.
At least six calls were referred to the Eagle River Police Department and there were at least eight informational or procedural entries.
In the past week, at least two people were booked at the Vilas County Jail. During the week, the inmate population ranged from 77 to 81. As of Dec. 30, there were 81 inmates.

- 10:30 p.m. - A?one-vehicle accident was reported on Halberstadt Road near Kuehne Road involving Christopher Plasky of Eagle River, who was cited for operating under the influence.
Eagle River Police
Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 15 calls for the Eagle River Police. These included one traffic accident, one accident with property damage, two burglar alarms, one ambulance request, one animal problem, one gas drive-off, one restraining violation, one report of lost property, one report of operating while intoxicated, one parking problem, one probation violation, one report of suspicious circumstances and one welfare check.
