|Barbara Anne Zellner|
Barbara Anne Zellner passed on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff, Wis., after fighting a courageous battle against cancer.
Barb was born in Eau Claire, Wis., on March 14, 1934, to Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell (Helen Walrath) Ewald.
Barb graduated with the Class of ’52 from Eagle River High School. Over the years she organized many of her class reunions.
On June 27, 1953, Barb married LeRoy (Bud) Zellner
in the Community Bible Church in Eagle River. They were happily joined in marriage for 48 years. Bud passed away on July 29, 2001.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Lawrence Ewald.
She is survived by her beloved brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Joan Ewald; many nieces, nephews and friends.
She also is survived by her brother-in-law, Joseph (Maryann) Zellner; and sisters-in-law, Jean Zellner, Patricia Pride and Luellen (Lolly) (Ralph) Kutcher.
Barb was dearly loved by her most special friend, Mary Marsh-Schilling; her beloved puppy, Pepé; and cats, Kaedee and Chester. She was blessed with many beautiful memories from all of her cats, especially Jetta.
While working in Milwaukee, Bud and Barb lived for every chance to race up north to go snowmobiling. After Barb retired from Liturgical Publications in West Allis, they made the move north — a dream come true — finally back home.
Barb was a member of the Sayner-Star Lake Lioness Club for 22 years, holding the positions of president and devoted secretary for many, many years.
She was a member of the Plum Lake Woman’s Club. Barb cherished monthly luncheons with her fellow classmates.
Barb enjoyed politics, keeping up with current events, and supporting the Republican Party.
She liked constructive things, not destructive things, and to be given the opportunity to build a strong character in an individual.
She tackled every challenge God gave her with dignity — oh! — how she will be missed.
A memorial service will be held on Jan. 11, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, Wis., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Eagle River Cemetery in the spring.
