The total restitution amount Stefonik and Briggs are responsible for is near $100,000, with about $85,000 of the amount from damage to one home they broke into a year ago.
According to the complaint, a citizen out for a walk Jan. 22, 2013, on Neptune Lake Road in the town of Monico observed a suspicious vehicle parked alongside the road and could hear what appeared to be glass breaking at a nearby residence. An investigation led to the arrest of Stefonik, Briggs and a 15-year-old suspect who was referred to juvenile court.
