Mining bill, ATV routes topped headlines in ’13

While Gov. Scott Walker’s two-year state budget and the mining bill made headlines at the state and local levels, the battle over all-terrain vehicle (ATV) routes in Three Lakes, Sugar Camp, Lac du Flambeau and the town of Washington made the most headlines here.

The controversy of allowing motor-trolling for anglers and a revision of the shoreland zoning ordinance known as NR115 were statewide issues that also effected North Woods residents and businesses.
