|Cold blast pours into North Woods; officials urge care|

Frigid cold air poured into the North Woods Sunday night through Tuesday, with the low temperature at minus 29 degrees in Eagle River Monday morning and wind chill factors between 40 and 50 degrees below zero.
Due to the cold weather and dangerous conditions, schools across the North Woods were closed Monday and Tuesday, including Northland Pines, Three Lakes and Phelps.
Vilas and Oneida county emergency management departments and public health departments announced buildings that were open for citizens who needed to seek warmth from the bitter cold.Those facilities included the Trig’s store mezzanine area in Eagle River, the Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital main entrance,
