The Northland Pines boys basketball team lost to Rhinelander 68-22 in a Great Northern Conference (GNC) game in Rhinelander last Friday.

The Hodags, one of the powers in the GNC this season, led 11-2 after one quarter and 31-10 at the intermission against an inexperienced Eagles team.

“I feel we started off really well once again defensively, holding them to eight points until the final seconds when they hit a three in the first quarter,” said Pines coach Brent Luebke. “We missed some scoring opportunities early on and they ran the floor well.”

Rhinelander took a 51-20 lead into the fourth quarter.
