Vilas County SheriffVilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week reported at least 28 vehicle accidents, four requests for an ambulance, one animal problem, three requests for agency assistance, seven burglar alarms, one burglary, 16 requests for citizen assistance, three domestic violence complaints, one instance of found property, one case of fraud, one harassment complaint, one hit-and-run, one report of lost property, six reports of hazardous conditions, one juvenile problem/runaway, five disturbances, two reports of suspicious circumstances, three thefts, four traffic violations, one vacation check, four welfare checks, six 911 hang-ups, three snowmobile accidents, two snowmobile violations and two drug problems.
At least 12 calls were referred to the Eagle River Police Department and there were at least 19 informational or procedural entries.
In the past week, at least one person was booked at the Vilas County Jail for operating while intoxicated.
During the week, the inmate population ranged from 85 to 88. As of Jan. 27, there were 87 inmates.
Eagle River Police
Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 16 calls for the Eagle River Police. These included one hit-and-run, one traffic accident, one accident with property damage, one request for an ambulance, one violation of bond conditions, one battery, two requests for citizen assistance, one harassment complaint, two informational reports, one theft, one threat, two hazards and one utility problem.
Three Lakes Police
This police department reported one 911 misdial, three vehicle accidents, three requests for an ambulance, one report of animal cruelty, one apprehension request, two requests for motorist assistance, one request for agency assistance, 10 business checks, one escort, one hazard, one informational report, one mental commitment, one report of operating while intoxicated, one paper service, one report of reckless driving, three services, three snowmobile violations, seven traffic stops, one report of vandalism and five vehicles in ditches.
