St. Germain reminds citizens plowing onto roads is illegal PDF Print E-mail

The town of St. Germain recently issued a notice to area residents that is it unlawful to plow or blow snow from driveways onto or across town, county or state roads.

“It’s dangerous to passing motorists,” read the notice. “Also, town snow removal equipment may be damaged by impact with compacted snow or ice ridges left behind.

“It is actually illegal by Wisconsin state statute, and we ask that you please keep safety in mind when clearing your driveways and refrain from plowing on roads.”

Those who use a service for plowing should contact the provider and share this information, said town board officials.
