Vilas County Sheriff

A total of 141 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.

The department reported at least 20 vehicle accidents, 10 requests for an ambulance, three animal problems, four requests for agency assistance, 11 burglar alarms, two burglaries, 10 requests for citizen assistance, one harassment complaint, three hit-and-runs, one weapons offense, four re­ports of hazardous

conditions, four juvenile problems/runaways, three disturbances, three reports of suspicious circumstances, four thefts, three traffic violations, one vacation check, four welfare checks, six 911 hang-ups, four snowmobile accidents, four reports of operating while intoxicated, one report of operating while intoxicated on a snowmobile and one snowmobile violation.

At least 18 calls were re­ferred to the Eagle River Police De­partment and there were at least 20 informational or procedural entries.

In the past week, at least two people were booked at the Vilas County Jail for operating while intoxicated on a snowmobile.

During the week, the in­mate population ranged from 76 to 87. As of Feb. 3, there were 87 inmates.

Friday, Jan. 31

- 12:57 p.m. - A two-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 70 and Old Highway 51 in Arbor Vitae involving Wilhelm B. Lemmons Jr. of Eagle River and Clint A. Beyersdorf of Conover.

- 10:08 a.m. - A two-vehicle accident was reported on Highway 51 near Wallace Road in Arbor Vitae involving Ralph T. Plowman of Woodruff and Jamie A. Hardy of Joliet, Ill.

Thursday, Jan. 30

- 10:30 a.m. - A vehicle versus snowmobile accident was reported on Lost Lake Drive North near Lost Lake Drive West in St. Germain involving Virginia M. Wissing of St. Germain and Scott W. Schafer of Madison.

Three Lakes Police

This police department re­ported one 911 hang-up, two vehicle accidents, one hit-and-run, one animal problem, four requests for motorist assistance, two requests for agency assistance, 10 business checks, one report of domestic violence, one hazard, one informational report, one report of operating while intoxicated, one warrant pickup, one bus violation, one service, three snowmobile violations, one traffic stop and one vehicle in a ditch.
