Vilas County Sheriff

Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week reported at least 15 vehicle accidents, two re­quests for an ambulance, two animal problems, three requests for agency assistance, six burglar alarms, six burglary, six requests for citizen assistance, two harassment complaints, one weap­ons offense, five re­ports of hazardous conditions, three juvenile problems/runaways, six disturbances, four reports of suspicious circumstances, four thefts, nine traffic violations, three vacation checks, four welfare checks, 16 911 hang-ups, four drug problems, three snowmobile violations, three reports of operating while intoxicated and one snowmobile accident.

At least 12 calls were re­ferred to the Eagle River Police De­partment and there were at least 20 informational or procedural entries.

In the past week, at least two people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including one for failure to pay and one for operating after revocation.

During the week, the in­mate population ranged from 78 to 81. As of Feb. 10, there were 79 inmates.



Sunday, Feb. 9

- 11:56 a.m. - A?two-vehicle accident was reported on Boot Lake Road near West Road in the town of Cloverland involving Randall W. Bender of Conover and Daniel N. Gallagher of Bloomingdale, Ill.

Friday, Feb. 7

- 6:50 a.m. - A?one-vehicle accident was reported on Dollar Lake Road near Highway 70 in the town of Lincoln involving Krysta M. Brooks of Allen Park, Mich.



Eagle River Police

Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 21 calls for the Eagle River Police. These in­cluded one hit-and-run, one vehicle accident, two fire alarms, one request for an ambulance, one animal noise complaint, one civil complaint, one disturbance, one warrant arrest, one informational report, one intoxicated person, one juvenile problem, one report of operating while intoxicated, one parking prob­lem, one snowmobile vi­o­lation, one suicide attempt, one theft, one hazard, two traffic violations and one utility problem.



Three Lakes Police

This police department re­ported one 911 hang-up, four vehicle accidents, two requests for an ambulance, 19 business checks, one harassment complaint, one hazard, one welfare check, one house check, four informational reports, one mental commitment, one re­port of operating while intoxicated, one paper service, one report of found property, one scam, one snowmobile violation, three suspicious circumstances, three traffic stops and two vehicles in a ditch.
