Janet Froelich, age 90, a resident of Sayner, Wis., and formerly of Englewood, Fla., died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at her home.
She was born in Rockford, Ill., on May 1, 1923, to Ernest and Hulda Estwing.
She married James Froelich. They owned and operated “Wah-Wah-Taysee” Resort on Plum Lake from 1950 to 1990.She also served on the board of directors of Estwing Manufacturing of Rockford.
She was an active member of the Plum Lake Women’s Club.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in 1996; two sisters; and one brother.
She is survived by daughters, Joy Froelich of Madison, Wis., and Julie Froelich of Sayner; son, Jay (Pat) Froelich of Englewood, Fla.; sister, Helen Gallant of Stratham, N.H.; grandchild, Heather (Ron) Scott; and great-grandchild, Taylor Scott.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, Wis. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the service.
