Eagle River residents to keep running water

Eagle River Light & Water recently advised all water customers in the city of Eagle River to run water 24 hours per day to prevent the freezing of mains and laterals and prevent damage to the city’s infrastructure.

Residents who don’t run water in accordance with this notice or shut off their waters stream without authorization from the utility will be charged for the costs of thawing and repairing their service, according to utility Manager Pat Weber.

The stream of water running from the faucet should be approximately the thickness of a pencil, or one quarter of one inch in diameter.
