Vilas County Sheriff
A total of 240 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.
The department reported at least 16 vehicle accidents, four car versus deer collisions, one abandoned vehicle, three requests for an ambulance, four animal problems, two requests for agency assistance, 11 burglar alarms, 16 requests for citizen assistance, one report of disorderly conduct, one instance of found property, two harassment complaints, 12 reports of hazardous conditions, two juvenile problems/runaways, five disturbances, three reports of suspicious circumstances, two thefts, seven traffic violations, nine welfare checks, 17 911 hang-ups, three reports of operating while intoxicated, two drug problems, six snowmobile violations and two snowmobile accidents.
At least 13 calls were referred to the Eagle River Police Department and there were at least 21 informational or procedural entries.
In the past week, at least one person was booked at the Vilas County Jail for obstructing justice.
During the week, the inmate population ranged from 74 to 79. As of Feb. 24, there were 79 inmates.
Eagle River Police
Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 30 calls for the Eagle River Police. These included one abandoned vehicle, six vehicle accidents, one fire alarm, three requests for an ambulance, one animal problem, three requests for citizen assistance, one report of counterfeit currency, one report of criminal damage to property, one disturbance, one domestic violence complaint, one parking problem, three probation violations, two reports of hazardous conditions, two utility problems, one welfare check and one 911 hang-up.
Three Lakes Police
This police department reported three vehicle accidents, two requests for an ambulance, four requests to assist a motorist, 13 business checks, one report of a fire, two reports of hazardous conditions, one report of illegal dumping, three information requests, one parking violation, three snowmobile violations, one traffic complaint, three traffic stops, three reports of vehicles in ditches and two 911 hang-ups.
