|Snowshoe Challenge draws over 40 entrants|
More than 40 adults and youths participated in four events at the 2014 Snowshoe Challenge at Trig’s Klondike Days in Eagle River March 1.
A total of nine men participated in the men’s 5-kilometer race on the wooded snowshoe course behind Rocking W Stables.
Derek Tassler, 39, of Tomahawk, won the race in 21 minutes, 32 seconds. The second-place male was Kyle Rogers, 30, of Rhinelander, who finished the race in 24:04, and the third-place male was Andrew Niemi, 14, of Ironwood, Mich., with a time of 24:16.The women’s 5-kilometer race — which featured 13 participants
