Vilas County ramps up effort to boost dog license compliance

This is the first of a three-art series on animal control and welfare in Vilas County. The first article focuses on current dog license statistics in Vilas County and how the county compares to the 72 counties in Wisconsin on percentage of dogs licensed based on population.

Dog license compliance continues to a problem in Vilas County, according to the Vilas County Public Health Board and its subcommittee on Animal Control and Welfare.

Dog license fees are $5 for neutered dogs and $10
