Clean Boats effort sees state revisions; new training slated

The Clean Boats, Clean Waters (CBCW) watercraft inspection and boater education program  is undergoing a major revision this year, according to Ted Ritter, Vilas County invasive species coordinator.

The program features  teams of volunteers, as well as some paid staff, performing boat and trailer checks, disseminating informational brochures and educating boaters on how to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species (AIS).

Ritter said the CBCW inspection form will be new in 2014 and the data entry procedure will be adjusted to accommodate the new form.
