Lake groups receive grants for AIS work

Three Phelps groups
receive over $100,000

Three Phelps lake groups received funding for continued aquatic invasive species (AIS) population control proj­ects and the Eagle River Chain of Lakes Association received funding for management planning, officials said Monday.

Kevin Gauthier, Department of Natural Resources (DNR) lakes management coordinator for the northern region, said eight planning projects were approved for this three-county region, including Vilas, Oneida and Forest counties, along with six AIS control grants.
