DNR officials report fish kills on some North Woods lakes

With more than two feet of ice still covering some lakes in the North Woods, state fish biologists are expecting an increase in fish kills due to low oxygen levels in some shallower lakes.

Department of Natural Resources (DNR) fish biologist John Kubisiak in Rhinelander said he has heard reports of dead fish on Thunder Lake, Sweeney Lake and Buckskin Lake, though none of them are severe at this time.
