Vilas County SheriffVilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week reported at least one vehicle accident, one car versus deer accident, two requests for an ambulance, three animal problems, four requests for agency assistance, two burglar alarms, eight requests for citizen assistance, three cases of fraud, three harassment complaints, one hit-and-run, four reports of hazardous conditions, five reports of criminal damage to property, one report of disorderly conduct, three reports of found property, five juvenile problems/runaways, three reports of suspicious circumstances, two thefts, 11 traffic violations, seven welfare checks, 17 911 hang-ups, four reports of operating while intoxicated and seven drug problems.
At least 14 calls were referred to the Eagle River Police Department and there were at least 16 informational or procedural entries.
In the past week, at least nine people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including one for probation revocation, one for possession of drug paraphanalia, two for operating while intoxicated, one for disorderly conduct, one for probation violation, one for possession of synthetic cannabinoids, one for illegal possession of prescription drugs and one for bail jumping.
During the week, the inmate population ranged from 84 to 86. As of April 28, there were 85 inmates.
Eagle River Police
Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 21 calls for the Eagle River Police. These included two burglar alarms, one request for citizen assistance, one report of criminal damage to property, one disturbance, one warrant arrest, one informational report, one juvenile problem, one drug overdose, two search warrants, one report of a suspicious circumstance, two thefts of medication, one hazard, one traffic violation, one report of trespassing, and four welfare checks.
Three Lakes Police
This police department reported one 911 transfer, one car versus deer accident, one hit-and-run, two alarms, two requests for an ambulance, one request for officer assistance, one animal at large, one request for agency assistance, one burglary, 11 business checks, one disturbance, two hazards, one informational report, two mental commitments, one scam, five reports of suspicious circumstances, three traffic stops, one trespassing complaint, three reports of vandalism, one weapons violation.
