Mr. Dempze was born in Stevens Point July 19, 1943, to Gordon and Iris (née Ayres) Dempze.
He married Susie Marlene Eichhorn Dec. 30, 1967, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids.He was the third-generation owner and operator of Dempze Cranberry Co. in the village of Biron and Tamarack Flowage Cranberry Co. in Three Lakes.
Mr. Dempze served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard.
He was an active and longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
His interests included his family and friends, hunting, fishing and beekeeping.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Jessica Dupuis.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Jamie (Rocky) Biegel of Wisconsin Rapids; one son-in-law, Shane Dupuis of Three Lakes; two brothers, Wayne (Jeanne) of Wisconsin Rapids and Gary (Susan) of Rudolph; one sister, Nancy (Dan) Bailey of Boston, Mass.; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A service was held April 23 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Entombment was in Forest Hill Mausoleum.
Memorials may be designated to the Dempze Family Scholarship Fund through Incourage Community Foundation or to the St. Paul’s Evangelical?Lutheran Church Cheerful Givers Fund.
