H. Lee Christensen, age 86, a resident of St. Germain, Wis., since 1983, and formerly of Oak Park, Ill., died Sunday April 27, 2014, at his home.
Lee was born Jan. 14, 1928, in Oak Park, to Axel and Signe Christensen.
He enjoyed playing golf, wind surfing, racquetball/ hand ball, tennis, and shooting league pool.He enjoyed family time and loved touring the lake on his pontoon boat.
He loved working for the town of St. Germain. Lee was a St. Germain Town Board member, Bo-Boen Snowmobile Club board member, an active Lions Club member, and he served on the town development board for the St. Germain Golf Course.
He served in the US Army.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Hazel Olson Christensen of St. Germain; daughter, Debra Helen Christensen Roberts of Rowlett, Texas; son, Douglas Lee Christensen of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Ralph and wife, P.C. Christensen of Baytown, Texas; sister-in-law, Helen Olson Moone of Hilton Head, S.C.; grandchildren, Scott and Stefan Christensen, Kalynda and Dustin Roberts and many other relatives.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2014, at St. Germain Community United Church of Christ located at 1315 Highway 155 in St. Germain.
Memorials to the St. Germain Golf Course are appreciated. A memorial will also be established in Lee’s name.
