Attendees were at odds during a public hearing last Wednesday on a proposal to allow the Wild Eagle Lodge Condo Association to place multiple new piers on the Eagle River Chain of Lakes.
Of those who stood up to speak at the hearing, approximately half were in favor of the proposal, although nearly all of them were condo owners at Wild Eagle or were otherwise affiliated with the lodge.
While the condo owners — who are experiencing a lack of places to dock boats at the lodge — are pushing for the new piers, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) stated it seeks to represent the interests of residents statewide.
