|Mothers: Lessons they taught us|
By Byron McNutt
“I KNOW EACH and every one of our mothers had faults,” said the Rev. Val Peter.
“Some had many faults and a few were even mean, nasty and cruel. Some were too busy making a living to spend time with their children or to help them set goals. But they still deserve special praise for the good things they did.
“Rejoice on Mother’s Day for what our mothers gave us, which we received in humility and gratitude, lights up our lives. Let us praise the good gifts our mothers gave us, especially their sacrifices on our behalf. And let us thank God for them.”Peter was executive director of Girls and Boys Town
