Joseph J. ‘Joe’ Javenkoski PDF Print E-mail

Joseph J. “Joe” Javenkoski of Appleton died Saturday, April 26, 2014, after a short illness. He was 77.

Mr. Jav­en­koski was born in Three Lakes Feb. 21, 1937, to the late Joseph and Sophie (Kulinski) Javenkoski.

After graduating from Three Lakes High School, he served in the U.S. Army during peacetime from 1960-’62 as an active duty demolition specialist, followed by several years in the Reserves.

He married Ann Marie Bronk Dec. 1, 1962, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rhinelander.

He worked for Allis Chalmers (Metso) for 38 years and retired in 2000 as a maintenance supervisor.

Mr. Javenkoski was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and of the ROMEO club.

His interests included  woodcrafting, fishing, photography and playing with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death  by his parents; and four siblings, Dave (Lois), Leona (Ashley) Briggs, Clarence (Dorothy), and Carl.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Lori (Dirk) Holman; three sons, Bob (Lora), Jerry “J.J.”; and John (Lea); one sister, Virginia (Bruce) Schaeffer; one brother, Roy; one sister-in-law, Lorna;  six grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral liturgy was held May 2 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Appleton. Interment took place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Appleton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated.
