|Disgusted by reports of VA health-care abuses|
I am a disabled veteran who is thoroughly disgusted at the reports of veterans’ deaths and abuses at Veterans Administration (VA) medical centers.
I was an Air Force medic and have worked in military and civilian hospitals, and have experience with the VA medical centers at Allen Park, Mich., St. Louis, Mo., Chicago, Ill., Milwaukee and Iron Mountain, Mich.
I appreciate most of the professional staff for their
dedication and care of our veterans, but I take exception to the VA medical centers’ management and policies. The limiting and delaying of veterans’ care by controlling the claim process and backlogs have hurt our veterans.
The latest abuse amounts to a government death panel. The VA is government-run health care and we cannot allow our government to treat this scandal like other recent scandals by lying, minimizing, evading, spinning or ignoring the issue and hoping it goes away.
We should demand that these key necessary questions be asked concerning the unofficial waiting list to get on the waiting list:
It appears that this practice was installed to control the reported backlogs for political purposes to get bonuses. As a former internal auditor, I know that if someone falsifies company books for personal gain, that is fraud and should be prosecuted!
Also, I can’t understand why any federal employee should deserve bonuses for doing their jobs. The only bonuses I would allow would be to our military who are awarded the Medal of Honor or Silver Stars, etc.
Therefore, I support the American Legion demands and am urging everyone to write their congressmen or senators to demand a full investigation.
Wake up, America, you’re next.
