Three Lakes School Board should hold public meeting PDF Print E-mail

Letter to the Editor:

I am very upset with how the Three Lakes School Board is handling this very disturbing situation regarding Dr. George Karling. There appears to be a blasé attitude from the board in regards to the arrest of Dr. Karling leading to a disorderly conduct charge.

The board has done nothing to reassure the parents and students regarding Dr. Karling’s behavior.

I know how decisively the board has acted in the past when dealing with similar issues related to other employees. Even anonymous letters have been accepted to trigger disciplinary action.

The board has a situation here and needs to act upon it decisively and quickly to assure the community that the board is holding its best interests at heart.

Recently, a teacher in Rhinelander was charged with domestic abuse, as has Dr. Karling, and that teacher has been put on administrative leave. This seems like a reasonable action to insure the staff and students are safe until the legal situation is resolved.

I strongly ask that the school board schedule a special public meeting where the community can hear what the board is doing and to let us ask questions.

Don’t be hypocrites. Prove that everyone is treated equally in our school district. Let us hear from the board.

Agree with you 100% Virginia. I don't know what it is with these school boards but Three Lakes, Northland Pines and others seem to have no problems letting administrators get away with just about anything and everything. Time to clean house with these boards and it starts with the board presidents.
