David Grover, formerly of Eagle River, died Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Golden Living Center-Golden Age in Tomahawk.
Mr. Grover was born Dec. 27, 1940, to Fred A. and Grace (née Steveling) in Detroit, Mich. He spent most of his youth in the Detroit suburb of St. Claire Shores.
In the early 1950s, the family moved to Hartford, where he attended Hartford Public School and graduated in 1959.He married Judith Keller in 1961. He later married Beverly Lentz in 1975.
Mr. Grover worked in the auto repair trade, and also served on the Hartford Fire Department. He moved to Eagle River in 1995, and worked as a chef and sold auto parts until he retired. He enjoyed gardening, lawn care, cooking and baking.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beverly; one son, Randy; and three brothers.
He is survived by one daughter, Mary of West Bend; two sons, Donald of West Bend and Dennis (Debbie) of Hartford; three stepdaughters, Lois Herman of Manitowoc, Kathy (John) Peutz of Sturgeon Bay, and Gloria (Lynn) Hartwig of Horicon; two stepsons, Stan (Connie) Nickel of Campbellsport and Fred (Rita) Nickel of Adams-Friendship; and many grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk Saturday, May 31, at 11 a.m. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
