She leaves behind her sister-in-law, Maxine Mehlhoff of Bloomington, Minn.; her beloved cocker spaniel, Lucy; and her beautiful sweet cat, Chloe; her dearest, closest friends, Mark and Ann Ubert, and Mort and Nelda Blatt.
She will be missed by her Eagle River family, Dorothy, Flo, Nina, Janet, Arlene; and her bowling teammates.Phyllis and Werner moved in the 1950s from Minneapolis/ St. Paul to open Dawn Moving & Storage, one of the most successful moving companies in Milwaukee, Wis.
They retired in 1985, and instead of moving to Las Vegas, Nev., they decided to move to the North Woods of Eagle River, Wis., where they lived on the river until they built the home on Cherry Drive about 10 years ago.
Phyllis volunteered for various organizations, such as her 25 years with the American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary. For 20 years she drove for the Vilas County Commission on Aging. She was a huge supporter of the animal shelters across the country.
She was on a bowling league since retirement and enjoyed her Wednesday evenings throughout the season. She was an excellent bowler and was the scorer for her team.
The Uberts and Blatts would like to thank Lori Lambert for her assistance during Phyllis’ hospice.
Many thanks to the Ministry Hospice organization, especially, Jo, Jackie, Deb, Jessie and Jeri, and to the Eagle River hospital staff, especially, Erin, Dan and Dr. Byrne.
