Michael J. Paremski, age 63, of Rhinelander, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander, surrounded by family and friends.
He was born on Aug. 30, 1950, in Rhinelander, the son of David and Carolyn (Sensenbrenner) Paremski.
Mike was a 1968 graduate of Rhinelander High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin- Superior in 1972.He went to work the U.S. Forest Service as a Forest Ranger, from which he retired in 2002.
Upon retirement, Mike followed his passion and became a Master Grower working for Bert Saal, owner of CCL Gardens in Rhinelander. Bert and many of his crew became Mike’s second family.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, was an avid Packer fan and loved animals.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor and selfless attitude.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Katie Paremski.
He is survived by his son, Johnathan (Melissa) Paremski of Three Lakes; grandson, Zachary; siblings, Linda (Michael) Doede of Rhinelander, Laura (Gary) Bennett of Harshaw, David Paremski of Issaquah, Wash., Ann Paremski of Neenah, Wis. and Susan (Pete) Otis of Minocqua; dear friends, Helen Johnson and Terry and Carla Strong; and beloved golden retriever, Maggie and cat, Kitty.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Rhinelander Food Pantry or the Oneida County Humane Society.
