Reviving old traditions
By Mary Friedel-Hunt

This year Passover coincides with Holy Week and Easter, both uplifting holidays with their symbolism of freedom, immortality and triumph. When I was teaching in a Catholic school years ago, I arranged an all-school Seder Passover meal and taught the students about the meaning of Passover and of Holy Week and Easter, thereby exposing them to both traditions and broadening their worlds. The parents got involved by providing the food and helping at the meals. It was a joyous event.
