Heavy snow before cold could mean lake slush

Ouch! That would be the description that most ice fishermen would give our last weather system. We needed cold weather, then snow, but got just the opposite.
We are now going to have to deal with a lot of early slush and some unpredictable and thin ice for quite a while. Even the snowmobilers wanted some more cold weather before this snow to get the marshes, swamps and lakes frozen nicely.
