Ice fishing winds down as ice-out nears in North
By George Langley

Anglers could not have asked for better weather to get out and do some late season ice fishing! Many area anglers took advantage of the unusually warm weather last weekend and got out on the ice for one last time this season.
With the temperatures remaining mild this week, the ice is quickly deteriorating on North Woods lakes. Over the weekend, there were reports of up to 12 inches of ice on some lakes, with some anglers still driving ATVs on the ice. At this point, we advise extreme caution when heading out on area lakes.
