Has the NFL killed the Golden Goose?

THE NATIONAL Football League (NFL), also known as The Golden Goose, might be showing a little wear and tear, according to a recent article in the national media. Pro football, America’s most popular and profitable sport, is dealing with slumping attendance.
The NFL blames the weak national economy the last five years for much of the slide, but it is also looking for ways to lure fans to the stadiums and to improve the game-day experience. Softening the blow, the NFL owners have a $27.9 billion TV contract for 2014 through 2022.
