|Welcome to the land of eagles, ospreys|
By Kurt Krueger
A COUPLE of panfish were splashing on the surface about 30 minutes into the fishing trip, mostly rock bass that took the hook deep and apparently were struggling to survive.
I was fishing with a couple of kids and there’s always the chance of killing a fish or two with delayed hook sets and whatever; but then, nothing in nature is really wasted.
We were anchored and staying put because they were catching some nice crappies and bluegills. Little did we know the show was about to begin.
A bald eagle caught our attention by casting a shadow right over the boat as it circled above us. It too had noticed the struggling fish that were occasionally darting and splashing.
