Gouging on wolf fees should be overturned

By Kurt Krueger

EVERYTHING about the state’s new wolf hunt and enhanced population control plan makes sense, except the part about gouging Wisconsin hunters and trappers with

outrageous fees for licenses and permit applications.
If you think $24 is too much to pay for a deer license or $12 is too much for an extra antlerless deer tag, what about $100 for a wolf license or $10 every year just to make application for a wolf tag?

What Kurt? You are against fees that are a bit higher for a SPECIALTY HUNT? $100 may seem to be 'outrageous' but then again, look at the license fees for out-of-state purchasers for all 'sports'. First off I oppose the hunt totally (at this time). MI (upper peninsula) has less than 700 wolves and that population is stabilizing. While MN has a population of 3000 (THREE THOUSAND) and that population has been stable for 10 years! And what are the fees charged to WI residents to hunt elsewhere? Much more than a measly $100, you've paid that, RIGHT? SIGH!
