Eagles advance in High School Bowl

The Eagle River Eagles  from Northland Pines High School recently played the Westwood Patriots in the second round of High School Bowl and won by a score of 130-120.
Fifty schools from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and northern Wisconsin field teams for  public television station WNMU’s High School Bowl tournament, now in its 33rd year on the air.
Northland Pines will advance to the third round when it plays Menominee in game 35, scheduled to air Feb. 5.

Schools list holiday concerts

With Christmas fast approaching, area schools will have holiday programs offering choral and band music, dancing, and readings.
Northland Pines, Three Lakes, Phelps and Christ Lutheran schools have announced their holiday programs.

Northland Pines Middle School will hold its winter concert in the high school auditorium Thursday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m.

Konnow selected as exemplary soloist
Northland Pines student Brandon Konnow was one of 20 exemplary soloists selected to perform in a Wisconsin School Music Association recital in October.  --Contributed Photo

Brandon Konnow, a student at Northland Pines High School, performed this fall as one of 20 exemplary soloists from throughout the state in an honorary recital at the annual Wisconsin State Music Conference in Madison. He performed a B-flat clarinet solo.
In spring, Wisconsin School Music Association adjudicators identified exemplary soloists who performed at nine State Solo and Ensemble Festivals.
