The artwork of three Northland Pines Middle School students was recently selected to be displayed in the Wisconsin Art Education Association North Central Regional Art Exhibit at Marathon County Public Library in Wausau. They include, from left, Lainey Vanden Boom, seventh grade; Maddie Blaedow, eighth grade; and Kali Kolehouse, sixth grade, The exhibit will be on display through Saturday, Feb. 25, and is open to the public. Northland Pines Middle School physical education classes took part in “Hoops for Heart” Feb. 9-10, participating in drills and games, including a three-point competition. Prior to the event, students were encouraged to seek donations for the American Heart Association which sponsors the event.  Students also learned ways to care for their heart and why exercise and eating right will help them live longer. Northland Pines to host talent show

The eighth annual Northland Pines Idol talent show will be held Friday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. in the Northland Pines High School auditorium.
Students and faculty have been preparing for this event to showcase their talents.  Dancing, singing, musical and dramatic pieces are a few of the areas in which students and faculty will perform.

Spelling bee winners advance to regional

The annual Northland Pines School District (NPSD) Spelling Bee, held Jan. 25, showcased 41 top spellers in grades five through eight.
After seven rounds, four students remained. Those spellers advanced on to rounds eight through 14 where three top spellers and one alternate were declared.
