Fifth annual Math Week held at Northland Pines

The Northland Pines High School Math Department held their fifth annual Math Week recently.

This year’s theme was Engineering a Better Math Week. Math Week provides many opportunities for students to get more involved with the subject in a positive and fun way.

During Math Week, students participated in daily math challenges, a Math Survivor contest and a film making contest.

Pines to hold dress exchange

The Northland Pines High School Student Council will hold its first ever prom dress exchange.

Dress collection dates are Monday through Friday during school hours until Friday, March 1, in the high school office.

NPHS Academic Decathlon team advances to state level in March

For the second year in a row the Northland Pines High School (NPHS) Academic Decathlon team is heading to the state competition in March.

Academic Decathlon is a test of students’ knowledge of each year’s theme. This year the theme is Russia, and the team has been studying topics including early history to music and art of Russia.

The team has been working diligently, practicing twice a week since September.

Three Pines teams compete in conference championships

Three Northland Pines winter athletic teams are in the running to become Conference Champions this season.

With a current in conference record of 13-0 the Northland Pines boys hockey team has become the Great Northern Conference Champions once again.

The Northland Pines Middle School has announced the students named to its honor roll for the second quarter of the 2012-’13 school year.
