Middle school announces 2nd-quarter honor roll

Northland Pines Middle School has announced students named to its second-quarter honor roll for the 2011-’12 school year as follows:

Sixth grade: Dayton Bowman, Jack Brown, Shannon Clark, Blayden Conrad, Siera Eggleston, Aaron Ewert, Trent Fessenbecker, Shay Garske, Tyler Grady, Dylan Haagen, Carsen Hickson, Michael John, Nicolas Justice, Cody Klein, Jeb Klessig, Bryce Lederer, Emily Lenz, Dawson Penn, Shawn Rein, Hunter Rose, Robert Schilling, Briana Vail, Amanda Weist, Justin Wigginton and Joshua Wigginton.

Northland Pines to host talent show

The eighth annual Northland Pines Idol talent show will be held Friday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. in the Northland Pines High School auditorium.
Students and faculty have been preparing for this event to showcase their talents.  Dancing, singing, musical and dramatic pieces are a few of the areas in which students and faculty will perform.

Spelling bee winners advance to regional

The annual Northland Pines School District (NPSD) Spelling Bee, held Jan. 25, showcased 41 top spellers in grades five through eight.
After seven rounds, four students remained. Those spellers advanced on to rounds eight through 14 where three top spellers and one alternate were declared.
