First Moonlight Run to benefit wellness center
By Gary Ridderbusch

The Pines Community Wellness Center will hold its first major fundraiser, the Moonlight Run, formerly known as the Moonshine Run, Saturday, July 12, at 10 p.m. in downtown Eagle River near the Depot.

Northland Pines School District officials hope to make the run an annual fundraising event for the wellness center, which the district took over center operations from the YMCA in 2013.

The event will be a 5-kilometer (5K) run along with a children’s 1-kilometer (1K) race. Activities for the entire family will begin at 7 p.m. with food, games, music and a 50-foot inflatable obstacle course.
