John ‘Jack’ Robert Mettelka

John “Jack” Robert Mettelka, age 83, of Eagle River, Wis., formerly of Green Bay, Wis., died unexpectedly at home on Dec. 10, 2013.

He was born on Christmas Day 1929, in Wausau, Wis., to Erwin and Arlyle (Anderson) Mettelka.

Jack served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and also spent six years in the Air Force Reserve.

After serving his country he moved to Milwaukee to take a job with the Veri-Typer Corp.

William C. Minnich Sr.

William C. Minnich Sr. of St. Germain died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at Avanti Health and Rehabilitation Cen­ter in Minocqua. He was 86.

Mr. Minnich was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., July 15, 1927, and graduated from Purdue University in 1949.

He married Doris Naomi Goetsch June 18, 1949.

Howard ‘Howie’ Schmeling

Howard “Howie” Schmeling, a resident of Three Lakes since 1988, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, in Weston. He was 78.

Mr. Schmeling was born Nov. 19, 1935, in Edgerton to Stanley and Louella Schmeling.

He graduated from Milton High School in 1954, and retired from General Motors in 1987.

Herbert T. Bretzel

Herbert T. Bretzel of Eagle River died Sunday Dec. 8, 2013, at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. He was 93.

Mr. Bretzel was born  April 29, 1920, in Milwaukee, and served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He worked for Motorola for many years, and  traveled extensively to many countries.

Judy Minaudo

Judy Mi­naudo (née Garapolo), born to eternal life on Dec. 3, 2013, at the age of 74, after battling COPD for 20 years.

Judy was born and raised in Chicago, Ill., by her parents, Frank and Marcella, along with her sister, Pat, and brother, Butch, who all preceded her in death.

She attended Providence High School and raised six children with her husband, Andy, who she met on a blind date. They were married for 54 years.

A private service was held.

Timothy Donald Pock­at, age 30, of Sayner, Wis., died on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at How­ard Young Medical Center in Wood­ruff, Wis.

Tim was born on March 14, 1983, in Sayner, the son of Ronald and Mitzi Pockat.

Tim graduated from Northland Pines High School. He worked at Vinchi’s Hillside and for Peak Property Management, but loved to work as an auto mechanic at St. Germain Auto and Trailer.

Albert T. Radwill

RACINE — Albert Thomas “Butch” Radwill, 74, passed away at his residence on Dec. 4, 2013, with his family by his side.

Albert was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on July 13, 1939, the son of the late Albert F. and Joyce I. (née Alcott) Radwill.

He was employed by S.C. Johnson & Son Inc., retiring in 1989, after 32 years of service.

In Racine on May 16, 1959, Albert was united in marriage to Joann Stropes.
