Gladys I. Young of St. Germain died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. She was 84.

Mrs. Young was born Jan. 30, 1929, in Elgin, Ill., the daughter of Arthur and Florence (Stedge) Robbins. She was married to Donald Young Sept. 28, 1948.

She  was a past member of the Old Timers Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Lisa Ma­rie Anderson (née Wa­nat­ka) was born on May 14, 1959, and passed peacefully in her sleep at her home in Land O’ Lakes, Wis., on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013.

She is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Emil III and Susie Wanatka; sister, Mary Wanatka; brother, Mark Wanatka; niece and nephew, Amanda and Max Wanatka; and loving companion, Kelly Peissig.

Donald ‘Rusty Bucket’ Duncan

Donald “Rusty Buck­et” Duncan, age 78, a resident of Eagle River, Wis., since 1993 and former resident of Wausau, Wis., died on Nov. 28, 2013, at his home. Donald was born on Dec. 7, 1934, in Chicago, Ill. He graduated from Merrill High School. He married his wife Rosella on Nov. 25, 1971, in Merrill, Wis. He worked for Schneider National for 33 years. Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading and watching football. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and the NRA. Donald served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosella; his parents; and his sister, Dixie.

Jim Gottsacker, a resident of Eagle River since 2002 and formerly of Watersmeet, Mich., died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, in Woodruff. He was 80.

Mr. Gottsacker was born April 11, 1933, in Sheboygan to Roman and Marion Gottsacker.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, and received his bachelor of science degree from Iowa State University in forestry and a master of science degree from Syracuse University in forest economics.

Ellen L. Finch, age 77 of St. Germain, Wis., passed away on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013. She was under the care of her loving husband and five children with assistance from Hospice.

Ellen was born in Merrill, Wis., to Marjorie and Ernest Sparks on Jan. 2, 1936.

In her usual pilot jargon, Hope “flew west” the afternoon of Nov. 21, 2013, with her children bidding her a loving goodbye (b. May 14, 1922, Visalia, Calif.; d. Nov. 21, 2013, Ashland, Ore.).

She is survived by daughter Patt (Kim Yasutake) of Ashland, Ore., son Mykl (Arthur) (Rita Wong Suey) of W. Sacramento, Calif., son Hal T. of Houston, Texas, and grandchildren Tyler Herdklotz, Amy Forth, Allegra and Kira Herdklotz-Yasutake. She was preceeded in death by her husband of 57 years, Thomas A. John ‘Johnny’ Pitlik

John “Johnny” Pitlik of Sugar Camp died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013. He was 69.

Mr. Pitlik was born Dec. 12, 1943, in Rhinelander, the son of Howard and Emeline (Eddy) Pitlik.

He was raised in Sugar Camp and graduated from Three Lakes High School in 1962.

He spent most of his early years traveling throughout the United States while playing in various bands.

Lois Matson of Three Lakes died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center in Rhine­lander. She was 81.

Mrs. Matson was born  April 20, 1932, in Sheboygan to Chancy and Emma Anderson.

She married Vernon “Finn” Matson Sept. 25, 1948, in Three Lakes, where they continued to reside and raised their family of three children.
