Dorothy A. Gacke of Eagle River died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rhine­lander. She was 66.
Mrs. Gacke was born in San Diego, Calif., the daughter of Wilbur and Laurie (née Richards) Bodecker. 
She was raised and attended schools in Chicago, Ill.  She married Vernon Gacke April 27, 1991.  Her hobbies included reading and knitting. 

Richard L. Heeg, age 88, of 2001 Riverview Ave., Stevens Point, Wis., passed on to eternal life on Thurs­day, Dec. 20, 2012, surrounded by family at St. Michaels Hospital in Stevens Point.
He was born April 28, 1924, in Auburndale, Wis., son of the late William and Margaret (Kohlbeck) Heeg.

Clifford N. Melby of Boynton Beach, Fla., died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at a hospital in Boynton Beach. He was 69.
Mr. Melby was born in Rhinelander, the son of Clifford and Eunice Melby.  Raised in Eagle River, he graduated from Eagle River Union High School in 1961.
He received his business degree from UW-Superior.  After several years as an certified public accountant, he returned to school, graduating from John Marshall Law School

­Dorelle A. DeGoes-Pfister of Eagle River died Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at her home. She was 75.
Survivors include her husband Greg.

Thomas “Tom” Warren Sonnenberg passed away in home hospice at 5:45 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, in Lansing, Mich., just short of his 88th birthday.
In February 2008, he had moved from Wisconsin to Michigan, his birth state, where his eldest son, Curt, cared for him until his death. Tom suffered from Alz­hei­mer’s disease.

Lorraine Belke of Eagle River died Saturday, Dec.  15, 2012, at her home. She was 83.

Mrs. Belke was born July 22, 1929, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of James and Viola Giblin.  

Georgieanna (nee Barker) Hoover of Fond du Lac died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. She was 74.

Mrs. Hoover was born Dec. 8, 1937, in Three Lakes. She graduated from Three Lakes High School in 1955.

Marvin E. Larsen of St. Germain died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Seasons of Life Hospice Home in Woodruff. He was 83.

Mr. Larsen was born Aug. 14, 1929, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Leif and Margaret Larsen. He attended DePaul University in Chicago and Northern Illinois University.

He married Jennie Lascari Oct. 14, 1950.

Volker Marschall of Munich, Germany, died Thursday, May 31, 2012, at his home. He was 85.

Mr. Marschall was born Oct. 23, 1927, in Milwaukee.

He attended high school in Eagle River. He studied music in Chicago, Ill., then received a Fulbright scholarship to study at the Academy of Music Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, for two years. 

Cecilia Sue (Stoneking) Metzger, 72, of Three Lakes, Wis. and Westmont, Ill., passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, surrounded by family.

She was born in Three Lakes March 1, 1940.

She graduated from Three Lakes High School in 1958.

She was the beloved wife of the late Richard R. Metzger.

After raising their family in Westmont, Ill., Cecilia and Richard retired back to Three Lakes.

She is survived by Richard J. Metzger, Corrine J. Metz­ger, Charlotte J. (Bill) Kobusch, Colette J. (Matt) Solatka, Channon J. (Robert) Recchia and Robert J. (Jennifer) Metzger.
