Marcia A. Martinson

Marcia A. Martinson, 68, of Eagle River, Wis., went home to be with the Lord, her Savior, and her mother, from whom she was inseparable in life, on Dec. 31, 2013, after becoming seriously ill just over a year ago.

She worked for many years in the school system, and during the summers, she and her mother, Lorraine, ran the concession stand at Silver Lake beach.

Marcia loved caring for animals in need, had a great sense of humor and outlook on life, despite the challenges she faced. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her for who she truly was.

She is survived by her brother, Michael (Diane)

Cecelia ‘Sallie’ Miller

Cecelia “Sal­lie” Mil­ler, age 91, of Sugar Camp, passed away on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at Appleton Medical Center.

Sallie was born on Jan. 31, 1922, in Rhinelander, to the late Charles and Jenena (Golembeski) Burzynski.

She married Gordon Miller on Dec. 12, 1942, in Detroit; he preceded her in death on April 30, 2002.

Sallie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She graduated from Three Lakes High School in 1940,

Gordon Parnitzke

Gordon Parnitzke of Eagle River died Tuesday, Jan. 7,  2014. He was 73.

A funeral service will be  held Friday, Jan. 10, at noon at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Eagle River. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Our Savior Lutheran Church are appreciated by the family.

Theodore ‘Ted’ Zielinski

Theodore “Ted” Zielinski Jr. of Land O’ Lakes died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. He was 84.

Mr. Zielinski was born March 7, 1929, in Milwaukee, the son of Theodore and Gladys Zielinski.

He served in the U.S. Armed Forces and had been employed as a firefighter for the city of Milwaukee.

Robert Dickman

Robert Dickman, age 85, of Land O’ Lakes, Wis., passed away very peacefully surrounded by his family on our Lord’s birthday.

Bob enjoyed life to the fullest to the very end. He is now in peace with his beloved wife, Barbara.

Dorothy E. Drews

Dorothy E. Drews, age 86, of St. Germain, WI, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013.

She was born May 23, 1927, to Herb Holmquist and Margaret Witterholt in West Allis, WI. After graduating from Nathan Hale High School, she went to work at Allis-Chalmers where she met and married Ray Hintz. There they raised Ray’s two boys, Russ and Jack, then had two girls, Lin and Susie.

They moved to St. Germain from Milwaukee in 1968

Carol J. Jaeger, age 81, of Eagle River, passed into eternal rest on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie DeYoung Smola and Joe Smola, Eagle River, Lori and Chuck Hunter, Sugar Camp, Wendy and Dale Borowski, Mountain Home, Ark., and Penny and John Bialek, Manitowoc; eight grandchildren, Cassandra (Dean) Nemecek, Joshua Bellin, Justin (Kristy) Bialek, Chase (Laura) Hunter, Chado DeYoung, Cameron Hunter, Christopher Hunter and Nathan Bialek; nine great-grandchildren, Gage, Blake, Madison and Raegan Nemecek, Gabriel, Owen and Dylan Bialek, Ely DeYoung and Caleb Hunter; one brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Karen Foreman, Omaha, Ark.; and two sisters-in-law, Florence Foreman, Ponway, Calif., and Delores Jaeger, Manitowoc.

Henry ‘Hank’ B. Sayner

Henry “Hank” B. Sayner, formerly of Sayner, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, in Green Valley, Ariz. He was 90.

Mr. Sayner was born at the Sayner Lodge June 3, 1923, one of seven children, to George W. and Mary (née Ernst) Sayner.

His grandfather, Orin Sayner, was one of the first settlers in the area, thereby, the town’s name of Sayner.

Dorothy A. Walin

Dorothy A. Walin of Minocqua died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Our Home K Care in Minocqua. She was 89.

Mrs. Walin was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Illinois, the daughter of David and Anna (née Carlson) Borg.

She was a professional dog groomer and show judge, and she owned and operated The Velvet Bow in Hinsdale, Ill.
