Richard Dale Landerman

Richard Dale Landerman, age 72, passed away on March 4, 2014, at Oscar Johnson Veterans Hospital, Iron Mountain, Mich.

Born Nov. 13, 1941, in Fond du Lac, Wis., the son of Earl Landerman Sr. and Ann Elizabeth Flood.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; two stepsons, Matthew and Nathan Weisman; one stepdaughter, Nili Hers­ko­vitz; and her five children; and five grandchildren.

He also is survived by sisters-in-law, Shirley and Elaine;

William A. Maines

William A. Maines, 91, a longtime Sayner resident, passed away at home with his family at his side, on March 14, 2014.

Bill was born in Amsterdam, N.Y., the eldest son of Arthur and Eugenia (Freer) Maines in 1922.

He trained as a tool and die making apprentice with General Electric before joining the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1943.

He lived in upstate New York

Paul J.C. Kruel Jr.

Paul J.C. Kruel Jr., age 71, passed away suddenly on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, while vacationing in Florida.

Paul was born June 23, 1942, to Paul Sr. and Doris (Spettel).

He resided in Horicon, Wis., all his life, owning Kruel’s Dairy, and recently was an agent for Badger Mutual Insurance until his death.

Paul was a longtime volunteer

Leslie C. Musselman

Leslie C. Musselman, a resident of Eagle River since 1987, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at his home. He was 66.

Mr. Musselman was born May 9, 1947, in Manistique, Mich., to Delbert and Lorraine (née Swayer) Musselman.

He lived in Manistique until the age of 10 when they moved to Milwaukee.

He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam War

Philip G. Smith

Philip G. Smith, 65, of Land O’ Lakes, Wis., died March 4, 2014, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, Wis. Phil was affectionately called “Doc” in recognition of his decorated service as a combat medic with the First AirCav Division of the U.S. Army in Vietnam.

Phil was born on April 8, 1948, in Appleton, Wis., the oldest of four children of Dean and Mayme (Brum) Smith.

He graduated from Appleton’s Xavier High School in 1966, and spent a year at St. Norbert Abbey in De Pere.

He was drafted by the Army in 1967, serving in Germany,
