Donald Earl Chambers

Donald Earl Chambers, 87, long­time Conover resident, passed away on Aug. 6, 2014, at his home in Clarkdale, Ariz. He died from intractable anemia, often associated with cancer.

Don was born Dec. 27, 1926, at his family home in Pueblo, Colo., to Margaret B. Chambers (née Petersen) and Alonzo T. Chambers.

Don graduated from nearby Lakeland-Vineland High School in 1944, where he had lettered in basketball three years.

Josephine H. Gossell

Josephine H. Gossell of Hiles died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at her Butternut Lake home. She was 86.

Mrs. Gossell was born in Chicago, Ill., Oct. 8, 1927, the daughter of Dr. Paul and Josephine Hielscher. She was raised and attended schools in both Chicago and Libertyville, Ill., graduating from Libertyville High School in 1945.

She was employed at the Hough Co. in Libertyville where she met and married Lloyd Gossell in 1948.

Gary R. Corsi

Gary R. Corsi of Waters­meet, Mich., died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, Mich. He was 78.

A visitation was held at the Strasser Roller Funeral Home in Antigo Aug. 8.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to honor Mr. Corsi.

Martha Weber Judge

Martha Weber Judge of Eagle River and Shorewood died at her Shorewood home on June 21, 2014. She was 100+ years old.

Martha was born in January 1914, to Joseph and Francis Waba (Weber) in the Rainey River District of International Falls, Minn./Fort Francis, Ontario. Her father worked in the timber and pulp mills on the Canadian side, but always aspired to own a farm. When the Wisconsin Supreme Court abolished the state forests in 1915, and Gov. E. Phillip fired the state forester, the forests and cut­over lands of northern Wisconsin were set to be sold by land speculators with the governor’s intention of being fruitful and productive family farms.

Charles ‘Chuck’ Pace Sr.

Charles “Chuck” Pace Sr., a longtime resident of Eagle River, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at his home. He was 77.

Mr. Pace was born March 17, 1937, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Dr. Anthony and Mary Ann (née Lupi) Pace.

He was a 1954 graduate of Eagle River High School, and later served in the U.S. Army.
